Verify your email
After you sign up, Beacon emails you a verification link. Clicking it activates your account and lets you log in.
Step 1 — Find the email
Look for an email from Beacon with the subject Welcome to SoftAgility Beacon — Verify your email. It arrives within a few seconds of submitting the sign-up form.
The email is sent to whatever address you entered on the sign-up form. If you mistyped your email, the verification link won’t reach you — see I never received the email below.
Step 2 — Click the verification link
The email contains a button labeled Verify Email Address. Click it.
You’ll be taken to a page on beacon.softagility.com that briefly shows a loading spinner, then one of two outcomes:
- Success. A green check icon appears with confirmation that your email is verified. You can now sign in.
- Error. A red banner reads “This verification link is invalid or has already been used.” The most common cause is clicking an old link after the account was already verified. See The link says invalid or already used below.
Step 3 — Sign in
Once verified, click Sign in on the success page or return to beacon.softagility.com and use the credentials you registered with.
You’re now logged in for the first time. The dashboard will be empty until your application starts sending events — that’s covered in First Setup.
Common questions
I never received the email
- Check spam / junk. Email from new senders often gets filtered. Look in spam, junk, promotions, or any other folder your provider sorts mail into.
- Wait a minute. Most providers deliver within seconds, but a few can take up to a minute or two during peak load.
- Verify the address. If you mistyped your email at sign-up, the verification link is sitting in someone else’s inbox (or nowhere). Re-register with the correct address. The original incomplete account is harmless and will be cleaned up eventually.
- Resend. If the email is genuinely missing, click Resend email on the sign-up confirmation screen.
I lost the verification link
The original email is gone? Two options:
- From the sign-up confirmation screen (if you’re still on it): click Resend email.
- From the login page: enter your email and password to attempt to sign in. If your account isn’t verified, you’ll see a message offering to resend the verification email — click it.
The new email arrives with the subject SoftAgility Beacon — Verify your email (no “Welcome to” prefix) and replaces the previous link.
The link says “invalid or already used”
Two things can cause this. The more common one is that you’ve already verified — clicking an old verification link after success returns the same error message. Just sign in directly at beacon.softagility.com.
The other possibility is that the link is genuinely broken (e.g., truncated by a mail client). Use the resend paths above to get a fresh link.
Why is verification mandatory?
Mandatory verification protects you and your team in two ways:
- It confirms you can actually receive email at the address you registered with — important for password resets, billing notifications, and team invitations.
- It prevents bad actors from creating accounts with email addresses they don’t own.
There is no way to skip verification.
